You are an infinite being. What does this mean? Yes, you go through developmental stages in this life but the core you never really changes. You may feel like it changes in the sense that you may say “I use to be like this” or “I use to be like that”, but that has more to do with your outlook on life and how you see your place in the world, in the scheme of things. Oftentimes the way we view life can change depending on who our helpers are: if you lost or gained a loved one, a job, a home. Sometimes we even gain or lose some help from the other side; this too can change the way we view ourselves and our place in this world. However, besides all that, besides if you are smoking, drinking, drugging, sober, enthusiastic, depressed, in love, in lust, lost, found, afraid, you are still an infinite being whose core remains relatively constant. And this core will move onto the next life. Your core is full of your experiences and lessons and knowings from other lives, you come in with it that way. When you leave, your core will be the same, with added and depleted information and understandings, growth and acceptance. You can honor your core and recognize it by prayer and meditation, or by remembering your child-self (before you put so many other additions and junk on your core from this life). Go back to the child self and sit with him/her. Remember the purity and the wonder of all that is around you, remember your fears and insecurities – these are what you’ve battled (worked with) all your life. It is not your fault – it is what you came in with. That is not to say you have to leave with them: new understandings as a result of life lessons can remedy that. You’ve already learned a lot. Give yourself credit for how far you’ve come already. Sure, you may have slipped and faltered at times but you still have a chance to learn and grow – it is not too late. It is never too late, for we are infinite beings. Try again today . . .
