When you feel lost, cold and alone, take comfort in the thought that you are not alone.  There is no need to compare yourself to others in that you will never fully know or feel another’s experience.  This life/experience is yours and yours alone but I assure you it is not much different than the person sitting beside you on the bus or standing in front of you at the coffee counter.  We all feel waves of sorrow at times, we all harbor childhood fears and pain, we all are human.  What can we do to ease our human condition?  Comfort thy brother.  Say encouraging words to the person beside you, lend a nickel to the person in front of you, take the hand of the friend who is weeping.  Your own sense of misery will lift when you do, not to mention its effect on those you touch.
