Sometimes the sting of disappointment slows us down.  We rehash the surprise; we rehash how we thought we were going in one direction and then things stopped or moved into another direction.  That is because we want to control our vessel on the journey of life.  But life is so grand and there are so many other vessels that effect our small boat and our host, mother gaia, also has plans of her own.  What can we do to feel that where we are going is where we are suppose to go?  Or how do we accept situations that cause us hurt and pain: like the loss of a loved one or the loss of a job, etc.  This is why we have faith.  We know there is so much that is out of our hands.  But if we have faith that there is a higher plan we can accept that it must be so and we can now work under this new plan that may not be all we really wanted when it comes down to it (i.e. not our personal preference).  The thing about faith is that there is an acceptance of how things are and with acceptance there is the ability to work under these new parameters.  This idea of acceptance has been used by the faithful since the beginning of mankind.  It is used by those in AA.  We will never know why things happen to and around us.  I think the most important thing to do is be like a young sapling tree and be able to bend with the wind and the rain.  And then when the sun is out – open yourself up to the light and enjoy.
