We are all doing the best we can, or we would do something different. The man who cheats on his wife and ends up alone – he would have done something different if he could; the drug addict, the homeless, the murderer, even you. Most people have moments in their past they wish they could change: to hold back an angry word, to reverse an action, to lessen an emotion. But the past is the past and you did the best you could, even though you may think differently. We are all evolving. We learn from our mistakes in this life, the same as we do from past lives. Know peace now because you’ve experienced war; know generosity because you’ve experienced starvation; know love because you have experienced hatred. It’s all in a day’s work here on planet earth. Accept the past and make friends with it so each day you move onward and upward. Accept other people’s “situations” because we’ve all “been there”, regardless of how low you may perceive them now (from your “evolved” advantage point) ~ you have been there! Allow compassion, then, to replace your judgment. There is always a new day and new situations to explore. Start from here and keep being the best person you can be on this playground called life.
