The key to happiness is to be happy.  Have you ever tried it?  Being happy may take some practice so let’s start today.  Find the things that make you happy and do those things; be in those places; do that type of “work”.  Anything that you do to make you happy will not be something that you need to control.  If you say that eating makes me happy and I don’t want to just practice being happy because then I will eat too much and become fat, or sleep too much and become fired from my job, or kiss too much and let the world fall away around me.  Those things can’t be what makes you happy if you feel your happiness practice will become habitual and addictive.  That thing (over eating or over sleeping or over kissing is not the thing that really makes you happy but is more likely the thing that is covering for those things that really make you happy).  Loving and caring for others is a safe way to create happiness in your life, as well as other’s lives too.  If you can’t find what makes you happy, let this be your “fall back”.  Happiness is contagious so it is not selfish for you to work on being happy; that can only affect all those around you, which in turn will affect all those around them and so forth and so forth.  So let’s take some time to find our happiness and creating space in our day, each day, to be that happiness so that we help our brothers and sisters and our environment just by making ourselves smile.
