The earth is lush and green and comforting and at other times cold and barren and brutal. Earth is the proverbial example of yin and yang for, in truth, these two extremes happen concurrently everyday on this planet depending on where you live. People walk around happy or complaining of summer weather, as if it is like this everywhere. Many people are shortsighted in this way (thinking their experience is all there is). Bless the man who recognizes all extremes and lives his life somewhere in the balance. Blessed is the man who tries to create a sense of balance for others in the face of the extreme.
