Cooperation and collaboration is what will sustain us in the end. Individualism is the downfall of this civilization and that mind-set is on its way out. It may not seem like it right now, but it is. Community and humanity and coming together selflessly occur naturally in some cultures but westernization mind-set found in industrialized countries lacks this model. However, cooperation and collaboration are natural to the new children coming in. Winners and losers? They don’t like that concept – there is enough for all and so let’s share – that is the motto they live by. Individualism has served its purpose, it allowed for the whole to see it doesn’t work very well. It is a breeding ground for lies and crime and just bad behavior – pitting brother against brother. Unfortunately, we have not left this model yet. Look around and listen to those around you; listen to things you or they might say: “the immigrants are taking our jobs”, “the drug addicts are terrorizing our streets making them unsafe”, “horray for us, we’ve killed Osama bin Laden.” Anytime there is self over your brother we are not living to our fullest potential. Things are changing and mind-sets are changing. When your child wants to share because that is their nature, let them; when your child turns away from violence, please let them (when they feel uncomfortable seeing a violent act take place in reality, on TV, or on a video game, they do so because it is unnatural in the new human condition. I beg of you to honor the new way and allow them to turn away from violence – and you can too. Stop allowing the hands of one human to hurt another human being. It must stop soon. It must stop with you.
