Taking time to reflect can be a good thing.  Don’t dwell on the past, of course, we live in the now and it is best to be here now.  However, during rest, during our yin time, we need to assimilate what we are “getting” during our more active, yang time.  Dreams help us incorporate new knowledge, and meditation and yoga can help too by connecting mind/body/spirit and opening up those tracks (the trinity) for integration.  A walk in the woods is a lovely time to reflect, a massage, even, or a float in the pool.  People are so inundated with information now – things have sped up so much and our information/technology is constantly being streamed in.  Without some processing we will get overloaded and crash (sound familiar?).  Back up your data by dreaming/sleeping/walking/writing/sharing your experiences with others.  If not, dis-ease and imbalance will occur.  Another way to help control for information overload is to start limiting the unnecessary information streaming in:  television, news, and computer games, often provide much static/clutter in the brain.  People use these things (tv/computers) to calm themselves down, when in fact, they are causing more stress and “spam” in your already compromised system.  Take time today to process what you are experiencing:  breath into the information, create wisdom from knowledge.  Then your mind/body/spirit and your future will become bright and clean and open.
