Fear tries to lead us into the darkness.  When one is in fear they hide.  They hide their talent from the world, they hide their light, they hide their message.  Most people don’t recognize how limited they are on a daily basis due to fear.  They are limited in the things they say for they are afraid to aggravate their boss, spouse, neighbor.  They are limited on the things they do for fear of critique or having to stand out or worse yet, be cast out from the group (work, family, community:  any group).  As we lose our ego self, the worry about being accepted to any group lessens, therefore our brave factor increases; the thought of “what do I have to lose” increases.  Many young people are coming into this world with less ego and more bravery.  They shout out to their communities, families, schools, what they believe in.  They don’t stop their message due to fear, however, they may stop speaking out when they feel that no one is listening or more importantly that the greater whole is too big for change to occur.  Let us show our young people that we are listening and that as a family, workplace, neighborhood and community there is the ability to become better: more honest, fair, and loving.  Validate the young people that they have come into this world to elevate us out of the darkness of fear and into the light of love.
