There is much to enjoy today, so don’t miss it. Your child wants to tell you what happened at school today, your garden is blooming, your dog is ready for a game of fetch; and a thousand other great things are happening just for you. Will you miss any of it? Will you miss it because you are engrossed in a TV show, you are angry about the traffic, or you just want to sit alone to compose yourself after a long day with a nice drink?
It happens; it happens too often, really. It is hard to prioritize your day and the time that gets mismanaged by unforeseen circumstances. Life is fast and furious these days and it can also be tiring and confusing. Take time to communicate with your loved ones and connect with them – then time will stand still and you can be “more present.” Then you can get back to being your authentic self and not some automaton that society is trying to condition you into.
Say no. Say I refuse to be an automaton and follow the others in a mind numbing day. Even though it is hard, I’m going to be present during my day and make conscientious choices. This is my life – I’m not going to give it over to the machine. I’m going to take the time to wake up and make this life my own – one where every minute of every day is lived to its fullest.
