We are singular units, couples, families, groups, communities, countries, continents, and planet earth. We need the singular to make the larger whole. We need the singular to be as strong and amazing as possible to benefit the group. Oftentimes we feel diminished in a group setting; they are smarter, prettier, younger, and/or cooler, you may think. Maybe so (smile)? But they aren’t you and they are waiting to benefit from you and your Point of View, your experiences, your light and love. What do you bring to the table – even if it is something you otherwise thought would not be an attribute (like the fact you have recently experienced loss or are suffering from depression), that which you bring to the whole may trigger a new wave of compassion or a cure for cancer. What you have to bring to the table is just yourself – that is all you need – the rest will take care of itself (the interactions, the generation of new energy or new ideas). Maybe you coming into the group may even cause an argument or a fight. Maybe from that argument, there germinates a new understanding for yourself, someone else you are relating with, or the group in general. Never underestimate the power of one in a group. Then think what the power of two can do, and three or four of liked minds and pure hearts, then on and on. We will get there – together -but the journey is what it’s all about. So go mix and mingle. And enjoy the ride.
